This shape box sharpens children’s logical thinking and motor skills, as well as allowing them to insert shapes into the slots horizontally and vertically, as recommended by Maria Montessori. The balancing element is an action-packed game in its own right that develops reflexes, concentration and motor skills.

• From 15 months onwards, children start to open and close the beads and discover the other toys in the set. This shapes set includes an activity board that can be used on a flat surface, so that children can learn to recognise the different shapes and practise inserting them vertically into the slots.
• From 18 months onwards, they will start linking the beads together with the other shapes and inserting them into the slots horizontally. The set also doubles as a carrying case, so you can keep all the pieces together and use them on the move.
• Once your child is 18-24 months old, turn the box over onto its curved surface to turn it into a balancing game. They can either connect the beads together on top of the case, or simply stack them all up until they collapse!
• By the time they are 3 or 4 years old, children can start playing with their friends. Try getting everyone to take turns adding pieces until the structure falls over!
